OUR HISTORY

                  9 Colors Initiative was founded in 2016 by a group of young college students with a mission to promote equity and inclusivity within the LGBTQIAA+ & allied communities in Florida. The organization was established to address social and health disparities that disproportionately affect black queer people and their families in the central west, southwest & south regions of Florida. Over the years, 9 Colors Initiative has been dedicated to eradicating conscious and unconscious biases through education, advocacy, and community engagement, with a focus on creating safe spaces, providing health and wholeness services, and offering development & empowerment opportunities.

                   The organization has played a crucial role in promoting equality with pride programming, health & social service advocacy, and human rights for marginalized communities within the LGBTQIAA+ & allied communities we serve. Through partnerships with local organizations, advocacy efforts, and education programs, 9 Colors Initiative has worked to raise awareness about issues such as HIV/AIDS prevention, mental health, access to healthcare, discrimination, and social justice.

                 9 Colors Initiative has grown to become a recognized leader in the LGBTQIAA+ & allied communities in Florida, serving as a trusted resource and support system for individuals and families facing discrimination, stigma, and health disparities. The organization's work has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals, fostering a sense of belonging, empowerment, and inclusivity.

               With a committed team of staff, volunteers, and supporters, 9 Colors Initiative continues to make strides towards its vision of creating a brighter future for all individuals within the LGBTQIAA+ & allied communities. The organization remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting equity, advocating for social justice, and providing vital services and resources to those in need."
